Women’s soccer releases 19-game regular season slate for 2022
JERSEY CITY, NJ – The New Jersey City University women’s soccer program along with the seventh-year head coach Anthony Tuesta, released today, Thursday, July 7, the 19-game Gothic Knights roster for the 2022 season, including a nine-game New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) schedule. NJCU will play a total of nine regular-season home games while traveling for ten away.
The Gothic Knights start their season with eight straight non-conference games. The first two take place on September 2nd and 3rd in Jersey City on the friendly boundaries of Robert L. McNulty Memorial Field against Yeshiva University and the College of Mount Saint Vincent. NJCU then hits the road for a pair, traveling to Long Island on September 7 to face St. Joseph’s University, followed by a September 10 matchup with Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Jersey City returns home to McNulty for a game against the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Sept. 11 before hitting the road again for three straight games. First, NJCU meets Brooklyn College on September 14, followed by a trip to Media, Pennsylvania on September 17 to fight Penn State Brandywine. The final vote for the NJAC competition will be held on September 21 in New York against John Jay College.
The Gothic Knights head back to Jersey City’s West Side as they open the conference game against Montclair State University on September 24 at the McNulty. NJCU then travels to South Jersey for a pair of NJAC matchups. The roster will end the month with a September 28 game in Glassboro, NJ against Rowan University before heading to Rutgers-Camden on October 1. After a brief, non-conference-at-home clash with Medgar Evers College on Oct. 6, NJAC foe Ramapo College joins McNulty on Oct. 8. Then it’s another non-conference home game on Oct. 9 against the Pratt Institute to wrap up non-NJAC play for the regular season.
NJCU travels to Wayne, NJ on October 12 to take on William Paterson University — the two programs have been extremely close for the past two seasons. Then it’s off to Galloway, NJ where Green and Gold take on Stockton University on October 15th. The Gothic Knights return for their last two regular season home games of the year on October 19 and 22 as Kean University and McNulty College of New Jersey come to town. Jersey City wraps up play for the regular season on October 26 in Rutgers-Newark with a rematch of last year’s 1-1 tie at Jersey City with double overtime.
