Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ribs) sits in training

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara did not practice Thursday, raising questions about his availability for this weekend’s game against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kamara, who is dealing with sore ribs, is trending in the wrong direction after being listed as a limited participant in Wednesday’s training session.

Kamara recorded nine carries for 39 yards in New Orleans’ 27-26 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Kamara has rushed for 4,277 yards and 47 touchdowns and 376 passes for 3,270 yards and 20 points in 74 career games (46 starts) with the Saints.

Other running backs Mark Ingram, Dwayne Washington and Tony Jones Jr. would likely see their respective workloads increase should Kamara sit out against the Buccaneers (1-0).

Joining Ingram (ankle) and Washington (hamstring) were quarterback Jameis Winston (back), defensive end Cameron Jordan (hip), wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith (shoulder), cornerback Alonte Taylor (hip) and tackle Landon Young (hip). also listed as restricted in practice on Thursday.

Cornerback Paulson Adebo (ankle) was sidelined in practice Thursday. He did not play in New Orleans’ season-opener game.
