In what is likely the high point of his career to date as head coach of the Saints Dennis Allen saw New Orleans convincingly defeat its former team, the Raiders, to concede under 200 yards (183) in a game for the first time all season.

Such defensive plays have been rare for this team in 2022 as the Saints have conceded 200 points so far this year, the fourth-highest in the NFL in Sunday’s games.

The inability to make stops defensively has pressured their offense to be more productive, and for the most part they have delivered by finishing fourth in the league this weekend in total offensive yards per game ( 394.4).

Their defense, which has averaged 4.5 yards per carry this season, was by far the stingiest we’ve seen against Las Vegas all year, keeping the Raiders’ four rushers at 38 yards on 13 carries.

Expect plenty of running plays when they have the ball, with the Saints averaging 141.3 rushing yards per contest in 2022.

New Orleans has conceded 320.8 yards per game for opposing offenses this season while conceding an average of 25 points this year.

A couple of solid games to wrap up October has the Ravens in a much better position than they were at the start of last month, winning their last two games after losing two of three.

At the start of the ninth week of the NFL season John HarbaughThe defense ranks 28th in yards allowed and 20th in points conceded, but they took a big step at the close to resolve those issues and earn the league’s top tackler.

Like their Monday opponents, the Ravens love to run the ball, they’re second in the league for rushing yards per game (165.6), and they have one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the NFL.

Against the run, Baltimore has averaged 4.4 yards per carry this season, although last Thursday they had no problem containing the Bucs’ ground play and conceded just 2.9 yards per carry against them.

In secondary school, the Ravens did well to contain them Tom Brady and the Tampa Air Strike, which gives the GOAT a 90.1 passer rating while they produced eight interceptions in the season.

They were much better at forcing punting situations last week, allowing just four third-down conversions to the Bucs on 13 tries.

We say New Orleans Saints 20-28 Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens should get a big boost from the addition of Roquan Smith and we expect their running attack to succeed on the fast turf at the Superdome.
