Former BYU star Ashley Hatch scores third USWNT career goal

SALT LAKE CITY – Ashley Hatch, former BYU star and current USA Women’s National Team forward, scored her third career goal for USA during a SheBelieves Cup game.

The USWNT played New Zealand on Sunday, February 20 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

In the 51st minute, Hatch scored his third goal as a member of the US squad with a shot into the back net.

Hatch’s goal extends the United States’ lead to 4-0.

The USWNT took a 3-0 lead before half-time after three own goals credited to Meikayla Moore.

Hatch has appeared in five competitions with the US women’s national team.

She was a finalist for the 2021 NWSL Most Valuable Player Award following her Golden Boot-winning season in which she scored 10 goals in 20 games.

Before turning pro, Hatch was a standout player for BYU from 2013-2016.

She currently plays for the NWSL’s Washington Spirit.

The USWNT v New Zealand game will be televised on ABC.
