Cooper named PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week
DURHAM – Duke midfielder sophomore Michelle Cooper was named Duke’s PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week after her two-goal performance in the Blue Devils’ 4-0 win over Radford in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Cooper, a native of Clarkston, Michigan, is helping lead the second-seeded Blue Devils to a 4-0 win over Radford in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The dynamic forward scored twice and added an assist in Saturday’s win in Durham to propel the Blue Devils into the second round. Cooper assisted the freshman in the first goal of the game Kat Rader and then added a second count in the 33approx minute to give Duke a 2-0 lead. She scored her second goal in the 65th minute from a corner kick. Cooper leads the ACC on the season with 15 goals and now owns five games this season with two goals. She is one of only two players at national level with 10 or more goals and assists this year.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on November 18 when they host the 16th-seeded Texas Longhorns at Koskinen Stadium. First Touch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
