Plans after graduation: Dubost will continue his education at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.

How HPU helped you get there: “HPU has given me many resources and great advice on transitioning into life after graduation. My professors provided unique perspectives throughout the application process to continue my education at Drexel University and to explore various employment opportunities and career paths. The professors at HPU are a great resource for students because of their experience and connections to industry.”

Most Influential Mentor at HPU: “My most influential mentor at HPU was Larry Quinn, Chair of Marketing & Sales, who assisted me with researching graduate schools and provided invaluable input throughout the process. Professor Quinn was a great sounding board for me and the letter of recommendation he wrote on my behalf undoubtedly helped me get accepted into many prestigious business schools. He also prepared me to actively participate in HPU’s Career Fair and Internship Expo and to explore careers after graduation. I met him frequently during my senior year at HPU and I strongly encourage other students to get in touch with him to use his knowledge and experience to be one step ahead.”

Most impressive moment at HPU: “My most impressive moments with HPU are winning the Big South tournament for the first time in HPU men’s soccer history, making two NCAA tournament appearances during my playing career, and being named to the honors roll. Being part of the most successful football recruiting class in the school’s history is something I will always remember and be proud of.”

How did the inspiring environment of the HPU contribute to your success? “High Point University surrounds each and every student with amazing resources that properly prepare them for success after graduation. Integrating all of these resources into lesson plans makes them easy for students to access and use.”

What life skills has HPU helped you with that have prepared you for long-term success? “As a four-year Division 1 student-athlete at HPU, I had the opportunity to hone my skills in time management, multitasking, and working effectively in a team environment—skills that will prepare me well for long-term success. Balancing football training, classes and my social life gave me a taste of what it would be like to work full-time while pursuing my MBA.”

Which values and virtues that you developed on the HPU campus will you take with you after your studies? “During my four years at HPU I have seen how much the university gives back to the surrounding communities. As part of the men’s soccer team, I had the opportunity to personally give back by building homes for Habitat for Humanity. This experience has strengthened my belief that we all have a role to play in contributing to the greater good of the communities in which we live, work and go to school.”

Note for minors: “Don’t take your time at HPU for granted, it’s going by fast. And take advantage of all the resources and mentors that HPU offers.”
