6 Under-the-Radar QB Prospects Carolina Panthers to Watch for 2023

What under-the-radar quarterback draft prospects should the Carolina Panthers be keeping an eye on during the 2022 college football season?

ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller’s recent mock draft sparked another heated debate over whether the Carolina Panthers will return to the collegiate ranks in 2023 for a quarterback. There’s obviously a lot of football to play before then, but absolutely nothing can be ruled out either way given how things have gone at the most important position on the pitch.

Sam Darnold remains the starter ahead of training camp. Though a lot could change before the Panthers take the field in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns.

Carolina also secured the services of Matt Corral earlier in the year at 94th overall. But if the Ole Miss product doesn’t move forward efficiently, those in power won’t hesitate to select another signal caller from an extremely deep class.

With that in mind, here are six under-the-radar quarterbacks the Panthers should be watching ahead of the 2023 draft.

Carolina Panthers should monitor Malik Cunningham

The Carolina Panthers had plenty of success in the 2010s with a double threat quarterback in Cam Newton. While Malik Cunningham isn’t nearly as tall as the former NFL MVP, there’s a lot to like about the potential client’s ability to make things work in a similar fashion.

This came to the fore in 2021 when Cunningham had more than 1,000 rushing yards and 20 points on the ground. This was one more than the signal caller managed to get through the air and will not have gone unnoticed by Scouts prior to his final collegiate campaign.

Cunningham is a bit undersized and the arm strength might not be elite, but the player more than makes up for it with an electrifying production.
